The flag hoisted on the tugboat Semko

On Wednesday, the 9th of December 2020, in the Naval Base in Świnoujście, the flag was hoisted on the tugboat H-12 Semko, which thus began its service in the 8th Coastal Defence Flotilla.

It is the fourth in a series of six tugboats built at Remontowa Shipbuilding SA of the Remontowa Holding capital group.

These ships are being built on the basis of a contract signed in 2017 as a result of winning the tender: "Technical protection and conducting rescue operations at sea under the code name Tug".

Since the beginning of this year, in addition to the H-12 Semko, Remontowa Shipbuilding has already delivered the tugboats B860/1 Bolko (January), B860/2 Gniewko (March 2020), 860/3 Mieszko (July 2020) and Semko (November 2020). The shipyard has already begun harbour tests on the fifth tugboat, H-3 Leszko, which will last to January 2021. Launching of the last tugboat, H-13 Przemko will take place in December 2020.

Tugboats are intended for, among others: combat safety and logistic support at sea and in ports, carrying out technical evacuation activities, support of rescue operations, transport of crews and supplies, neutralisation of pollution, removal of hazardous materials from water. The towing capacity is over 35 t.
